Matt Carns was born on November 3rd, 1976 in Birmingham, Alabama as Matthew Joseph Carns. At the University of Alabama he studied History and Business Management, which seems to have really paid off in his later endeavors. The Business Management classes would come in handy when he started Maddox Transport,a trucking company, in 1997. Maddox Transport started off with just one moving van, but would eventually utilize five frieghtliners. The company handled international freight to and from Alaska for approximately five years, mostly from the Pacific Rim. Matt Carns sold this company in 2001, shortly before moving to Denver, Colorado. In a sign of things to come, Mr. Carns entered the field of medical equipment in 2002 when he was hired as the first sales manager for Med1Online. In 2003, he was hired as the National Sales Manager for the Synaptic Corporation where he launched the 3000 series Synaptic products worldwide. By 2004, he had started his own company, called Trinity Medical Solutions, which consisted of only one employee—himself. Originally, he spent 40-50 hours a week travelling and attending medical tradeshows to establish contacts and gain knowledge of the industry firsthand. Within three years the company had grown to sixteen employs and now moves approximately $7,000,000 worth of medical equipment internationally per year.
